| Turandot_Ni and I never finished watching this ultra cutesy anime. So I got them from Netflix and am diligently watching while doing chores like putting stuff away or cooking. I don't like the voices in English as much as the Japanese voice actors but hey... I can't always sit still and read the subtitles.
Anyway, not much has changed around here - still report writing, doing lots of work, being stressed out, not sleeping enough, not working out enough, gaining weight due to all of the above, etc. At least it's winter and I can hide it more. Ha ha.
So when is all this rain going to stop? I was supposed to travel to Des Moines for a project but now that's been put off for a while, thank goodness. So I may be able to go visit Turandot_Ni for a weekend soon afterall. I was thinking that it was never going to happen at the rate I'm going. I will just have to bring work with me... haha. I always think that I can do stuff on the bus, but in reality I sleep like there's no tomorrow....
Mmm I guess this entry is just random rambling.
I went to a few good restaurants lately. One is Blue Ribbon Sushi, the other is Sakagura. Turandot_Ni you would like Sakagura - it's mainly a sake bar with a million different kinds of sake (but somewhat expensive) but they have lots of small dishes which are quite yummy. AND most importantly their fried chicken was VERY good! mmmm fried chicken. I feel like going to Minca for some ramen. It's very good ramen weather... hehe
| I HATE REPORT WRITING! Can anyone recommend a new job where I don't have to work 8:30 - 8:30 all the time and on weekends? I need a vacation! Actually I'd rather not have any vacation and just work normal hours of 9 - 5:30 and not have to take work home or work on weekends or write 50 page reports!!! URGH...
just needed to vent. really need a day off.
| so let's talk about shopping...i haven't done much of it since i had a mega shopping spree at banana republic during their semi-annual summer sale towards the end of june. i think i've bought so much stuff that i haven't worn all the new items yet - it's been over 2 months since i've bought them. i keep telling myself that it's time to tidy up and clean out the closet, throw out or donate stuff that i don't wear. i did that when i switched my fall/winter closet to my spring/summer closet, but i guess it's time to do that again...so soon.
so this past weekend, bluefly.com was having an extra 10% off their semi-annual sale. i decided that i needed some tote bags that also double as purses to carry my laptop around in. the laptop bags that the firm gives us are so not professional looking. one was a backpack...it looks funny to wear a backpack when you're wearing a suit. the other is one of those normal ones with a long strap. this one really hurts my back. so i got some totes that fit the computer just right and you can put a few other items in there like the power cord, my wallet, ipod, cell phone, keys, etc. pretty happy with my purchases.
i find that the more stressed out i am at work, the more online shopping i do. i think spending money alleviates stress. however, if you think about it, this is what sweetsake talks about. people who make more are not necessarily happier because they have less time to enjoy. so if i didn't work so much and didn't earn so much money, then i wouldn't be able to buy so much stuff, but then again...maybe i wouldn't be so stressed that i feel like getting retail therapy. i think it's tough to find a good mean so that you make enough to not worry about money, but not too much that all you do is work work work...
ok so now to enjoy my new totes and wallets... ;)
oh and...checking out a shoe sale after work today...more retail therapy to come.
| Always a good movie - pretty star studded cast.
I am taking Leonfans' advice to try out new classes. But after taking a look at the class schedule, nothing really fits, unless i start working out from 7-8 in the morning. which is pretty crazy! That would require me to get up at 6, leave at 6:30. get to the gym, shower and be ready at 8:15 and then run to work to make it by 8:30. Although this would aleviate my having to get home late or not doing anything with anyone because i went to the gym! hehe
Weekend update: Friday night, went to Our Name is Mudd to pick up pottery pieces, they turned out really well. Made two more pieces, which I'll pick up this friday. Saturday, worked a little, hung out with Kourtney and made a charm bracelet, helped with a jigsaw puzzle, did one thread of cross stitching - yeap all grandma stuff. Sunday, worked a lot from home, watched some tv, got my nails done, went to the japanese bakery and picked up some curry pan, potato croquette pan and an donut, went to st. alp's and grabbed a matcha au lait with green tea agar, mmmm, ate dinner, called it a day, sounds exciting eh?
I hope Turandot_Ni feels better soon. She can't start off the school year being sick! And she has got to stop getting sick during vacations, how am i ever gonna go on vacation with her?!
plans for this week - tonight, make japanese curry with onions, potatoes, bell peppers and whatever else i may have in the fridge. make chicken katsu to go with it and some white rice. have leftovers for the entire week. tomorrow, go to the gym. that's all i know for now...
| To answer Leonfans' question - no I'm not watching that one. Roughly translated the Korean Drama is "look again and again" or "can't stop looking at you" or something like that. I forgot to look at the english name on the cover. I promised that I wouldn't start another drama before i finished all my work. I had been watching XiaoZhuangMiShi (The secret diary/life of the empress XiaoZhuang). That was 38 episodes and I think I finished it in one week. Yeah lots of missed sleep, or rather, missed gym time. Turandot_ni can vouch for how addicting it is though. Perhaps that's what she's doing this week, since she's been so silent... hehe
so on my list of to-do's for today and the rest of this weekend, there are 11 things. i know that i won't get to 2 of them. but all the rest i have to have to finish, amongst a whole host of other things.
oh and on top of everything, my gym instructor quick. so now where am i supposed to go to take step class?! we used to have class 3 times a week, monday, thursday and saturday. i used to go religiously 3 times a week. then he dropped monday because he and management weren't getting along, and they moved his class time, etc. so he threw a hissy fit and canceled class. then he canceled class on saturdays for the summer because...no one was coming, everyone was going out of town, etc. so from 3, we went to 1. and now...he quit as of monday, and didn't bother telling anyone that he quit! what a bastard. so i show up to class last night and people were subbing for him. we all just thought that he was absent for whatever reason. only today did one of my friends talk to the front desk and was told that he had quit. now i'm really pissed...i mostly go to my gym even though it's out of the way for his classes. my membership isn't over until february of 2007!!!! ugh. so i guess i'll have to rearrange what classes i like to take, or just work out according to the schedule that my friend who's a personal trainer assigned me. the eliptical machine gets boring after a while you know? i suppose it's time for a change anyway. i think my body had gotten used to doing the same thing over and over again, and i wasn't getting the most benefit out of it. time to take up...boxing! :)
